NEOM Green Hydrogen Company Launches Major Recruitment Drive to Power the Future of Energy

Source:solarquarter

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), which is constructing the world’s largest green hydrogen plant at Oxagon in Saudi Arabia’s northwestern region of NEOM, has launched a significant recruitment drive to support its construction and operations phases. The initiative aims to build a robust, talented team across various functions, including Corporate, EHSS, Risk, Operations & Maintenance, Finance, IT & Cyber Security, as the green hydrogen plant continues to progress on schedule.

To kickstart these efforts, NGHC recently hosted its first virtual career fair, which attracted over 9,000 registrations, indicating strong interest from potential candidates in Saudi Arabia eager to be part of this transformative energy project. The event allowed participants to engage directly with NGHC’s talent acquisition team and hiring managers to learn more about available career opportunities.

Wesam Alghamdi, CEO of NGHC, highlighted the recruitment drive’s importance to the company’s growth, stating, “NGHC’s mission aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of economic diversification and sustainability. By assembling top talent from Saudi Arabia and around the world, we are building a skilled team to deliver the world’s largest green hydrogen plant and initiate operations, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable energy future. We are also committed to collaborating with universities in the Kingdom to encourage young people to pursue careers in our dynamic industry.”

NGHC is committed to attracting both local and international talent to contribute to its ambitious project. The recruitment drive underscores the company’s dedication to building world-class teams and fostering a diverse workforce. As of early August 2024, 16% of NGHC’s workforce is female, and 43% of all staff are Saudi nationals.

The company is also focused on nurturing local talent through future partnerships, initiatives, and training programs designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Saudi workforce.

Aligned with the global shift towards sustainable energy, NGHC’s mission and vision emphasize the crucial role of green hydrogen in reducing carbon emissions. An equal joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM, the green hydrogen plant will produce up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free fuel daily when fully operational at the end of 2026, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards a greener future. The green hydrogen will be transported as green ammonia by Air Products, the exclusive 30-year off-taker, and will be used in hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry and transportation. Once operational, NGHC’s green hydrogen plant is expected to save up to 5 million tonnes of CO2 annually.

As NGHC continues to build its team and progress toward its goals, the company remains on track to reach full production by the end of 2026, positioning itself as a global leader in the green hydrogen sector. Interested candidates are encouraged to explore career opportunities with NGHC and become part of this pioneering project.
